Rainbow Shiner (Very Nice!)

Notropsis chrosomus is a beautiful cyprinid native to the southeastern US. They are similar in habits to danios, but prefer cooler temperatures, ideally below 72F. Reaching about 3”, these agile schoolers are generally a pinkish tone, but when ready to spawn, males go a brilliant mix of electric blue and red tones. The colour of spawning males is more intense than even most tropical fish, making these a real gem for the coldwater tank.
